Hope in the Cafe

Di Kessels spoke last week about a new ministry God has placed on her heart for those in our community who may be lonely, in need of support through a tough time or would just like somewhere to come and be with others.

Di is seeking a team of likeminded people to join with her and minister to people of all ages and demographic with the ministry beginning ,Lord willing, on the 14th of July. The hope is to start with a program from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday each week. This will follow on from the food distribution we offer to all on a Wednesday from 9-10am. The time will be spent in conversation over coffee, lunch of soup through winter and joining in some games and activities.

There are many ways you can come along and be a part of this ministry and to find out more please contact Di on 0466 155 950.

Bulletin l March 2021

The abiding life of Jesus in produces joyful obedience as we see and savor Jesus as our treasure above all else - Matt Bowers

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full [John 15:9-11]

A note from the elders to the church

Saturday 6 March

Please pray for the elders as they continue to work through the organisational chart for the church. This is a complex system due to the diversity of the corporate ministries of the church.Funding has been sought from Stewards for the auditorium upgrades and has been approved, including funds to develop the annexed portion of Yangala. This area of land will be developed for the college to use and leased to them to cover the cost of the loan.

The auditorium stage 1 has been done, the structure is in place and the front stage is operational with a few defects to complete. Stage 2 is the side rooms off the stage for props and changing. Stage 3 is toilets in the backstage, which is difficult and expensive, but not an impact on church should we be back in there. The last part is stage 4 curtains etc for drama and adjustments to ceiling.

Questions were asked regarding when we can meet again in the auditorium. The main handicap is the COVID restrictions, and the baptism service made it clear that although we were compliant in the auditorium, once in the café we were not. Until restrictions are relaxed, we will remain in the café. The smaller meetings allow us to share in fellowship together. The baptism service in April will be managed differently in the café with table service and ushers directing people where to sit to ensure we are compliant. People are welcome to sit in family or friendship groups.

The finances have been presented to the elders and Kirk will be make adjustments as directed by the elders in readiness to present to the church at a date to be advised.

Don't forget clocks go back Saturday night (3rd April)!!

We are planning another baptism service for others in our church who are wanting to be baptised. If you have been considering baptism please let one of the pastors know. PRAYER NEEDS

Please continue to be in prayer for our church:

That the church will understand, and have the freedom to speak into, the Elder’s vision for the church and the community.

Transparency

between leadership and the church. That together we will be able to work as a body (a team) in unity and humility so that we can journey together.

Wisdom

as we meet regularly as a church with our leadership, that we can communicate better with each other, and also as we receive input from the entire church regarding our 2 services.

Future Leadership

For new “lay” Elders, and for the right person to take Jeff’s place. Bring him on, then work on the church vision together.

Home Groups

we have a desire to see more people involved and for them to grow. The following is a list of the “official” church groups, who meet weekly:

1. Sunday night Home Group, 5pm at the church

2. Monday morning KYB, 10am at the church

3. Tuesday night Young Adults, 7:30pm at the Kelly’s

4. Friday night Home Group, 7:30pm at the Spencer’s

The School

For its ministry, for the evangelism that needs to happen, for our Chaplaincy team, and for the School Staff.

Year 12's

Please pray for the Year 12 students at Hope Christian College over the coming weeks as they prepare for their exams and complete assignments for subjects that have no exam.

We are still operating our food distribution for those in need with most weeks having bread and bakery items, fresh fruit and vegetables. If you normally, or would like to, donate non-perishable items that would be greatly appreciated. Items can be dropped off during church office hours.

Did you know that you are able to donate funds to support this community outreach? Did you know that Sunday School kids offering supports this? Sunday School offering collected has raised $112.80 so far this year, well done kids.

As you'll have already read you are able to make non-perishable, toiletries, cleaning product donations, but what if you find it hard to do shopping? You can donate directly to this ministry and funds are used to purchase food items that may be in short supply or provide Coles vouchers for families etc. To donate simply pop in an envelope marked Hands & Feet Craigmore and put in the offering if cash. Prayer Morning

This coming Saturday, 5th September, we will be meeting in the church cafe from 9am-10am to pray. We will be praying specifically for our church, church ministries, for our leadership, our school, and for our positive impact on this community.

Your prayer, our prayers together, will be absolutely vital to the life and ministry of our church!

We honestly believe that prayer changes things! It changes hearts, it changes situations, it changes circumstances, it invites God into the situation. So, if you’re part of our family at Craigmore, if you’re committed to the life and work of the Lord here at Craigmore, we invite you to come and pray with us on Saturday morning. Hope to see you there!
