COVID19 & CHURCH

Hopefully you all received the update from the Elders this week regarding our services. Here are a few key points we need people to be mindful of:

- If you are feeling unwell please remain home even if symptoms are of a mild cold

- When coming into the church building use the hand sanitiser at the entry

- Please remember social distancing and practice this as much as possible on site

- Sunday School is still operating and will have children from different families separated as much as possible

- To comply with drinking and eating ruling this week, we ask that you be seated once you have your coffee/tea

- Please sit with your family or friends you have regular contact with outside of church during the week

- Refrain from handshakes, hugs or the like with other church members

- At the end of the service feel free to talk to those nearby where you are seated.

- Parents with children under Sunday School age please continue to feel free to use the play area beside the kitchen. If you are using this area you will need to be responsible for your children and be there with them as doors to car park and toilets are open to avoid multiple people handling and therefore a potential danger for young ones.

- Chairs, tables, toys, door handles, and toilets are cleaned between services

To help with social distancing and now we have an idea of numbers attending services the café area will have less chairs set up. You don’t need to sign in for Sunday services as we have a roll we take. At all other times please sign in if a ministry/home group leader is not taking the roll.

Through this time let’s all do our part and if you have any concerns please speak to one of our pastoral team.

MAF - Fuel for Father's Day

Don’t look any further for a Father’s Day Gift - MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) has you covered with Fuel for Father’s Day.

MAF is a “Christian fellowship dedicated to the use of technology and aviation to

reach out to, and assist other groups reach out to isolated people through the developing world. The use of light aircraft means we can reach places otherwise inaccessible due to poor roads, flooded roads, no roads, mountain ranges, swamps, and rivers. Bone-jarring drives or arduous, multiple-day journeys become short one- or two-hour flights, bringing help and hope where it is most needed, sharing Christ’s love.”

Donating this Father’s day will help fuel a plane so MAF are able to continue their ministry to those in need. Donate online at [jerrycan.maf.org.au](https://jerrycan.maf.org.au/)

Bulletin l 1st March

PREACHER'S PEN

Jeff Spencer

I was reading in 1 Peter 4 on suffering and found verse 1 a challenge:"He who has suffered is done with sin.”

How is this so?

Perhaps it is because when we go through suffering, life is no longer able to gratify us through indulgence in its distractions. When circumstances rob us of fulfillment we are driven to search for it elsewhere.

This was the experience of whoever wrote Ps 73. In verse 25 and 26 he asks God, "Who do I have other than you in heaven? And there isn't anything, anywhere on earth that I need or want in life other than you!"

If you are struggling under some overwhelming trial at the moment, it just may be that this is exactly the place of enduring fullfillment that God is seeking to bring you to through what you are suffering... It reminds me of a poem that has always arrested me:

When God wants to drill a man,

And thrill a man,

And skill a man

When God wants to mold a man

To play the noblest part;

When He yearns with all His heart

To create so great and bold a man

That all the world shall be amazed,

Watch His methods, watch His ways!

How He ruthlessly perfects

Whom He royally elects!

How He hammers him and hurts him,

And with mighty blows convert him;

Into trial shapes of clay which

Only God understands;

While his tortured heart is crying

And he lifts beseeching hands!

How He bends but never breaks

When his good He undertakes;

How He uses whom He chooses,

And which every purpose fuses him;

By every act induces him

To try His splendor out-

God knows what He’s about.
