[2 Peter 1 :3 -7]

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises,  so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

Christmas Services

Can you believe it’s 7 weeks till Christmas!?

As a staff we have been looking at the Christmas season and the opportunities we will have to celebrate the birth of our Saviour. The challenges of COVID and the impact upon all families is another factor that we need to consider as we look to a Christmas with open borders, and many families already planning to travel interstate or have interstate family here.

With COVID restrictions having to wear a mask whilst singing we do not feel that Christmas Eve service would be enjoyable, therefore this year will be a Christmas Day service at 9.30am.

Carols event

This year we will not be having a public carols event due to Covid restrictions however we will be having an evening carols service and sausage sizzle for our congregation the weekend before Christmas where Phil Emery will be sharing a Christmas message with us.

The time will be spent in conversation over coffee, lunch of soup through winter and joining in some games and activities.

The abiding life of Jesus in produces joyful obedience as we see and savor Jesus as our treasure above all else - Matt Bowers

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full [John 15:9-11]

A note from the elders to the church

Saturday 6 March

Please pray for the elders as they continue to work through the organisational chart for the church. This is a complex system due to the diversity of the corporate ministries of the church.Funding has been sought from Stewards for the auditorium upgrades and has been approved, including funds to develop the annexed portion of Yangala. This area of land will be developed for the college to use and leased to them to cover the cost of the loan.

The auditorium stage 1 has been done, the structure is in place and the front stage is operational with a few defects to complete. Stage 2 is the side rooms off the stage for props and changing. Stage 3 is toilets in the backstage, which is difficult and expensive, but not an impact on church should we be back in there. The last part is stage 4 curtains etc for drama and adjustments to ceiling.

Questions were asked regarding when we can meet again in the auditorium. The main handicap is the COVID restrictions, and the baptism service made it clear that although we were compliant in the auditorium, once in the café we were not. Until restrictions are relaxed, we will remain in the café. The smaller meetings allow us to share in fellowship together. The baptism service in April will be managed differently in the café with table service and ushers directing people where to sit to ensure we are compliant. People are welcome to sit in family or friendship groups.

The finances have been presented to the elders and Kirk will be make adjustments as directed by the elders in readiness to present to the church at a date to be advised.

__________

EASTER SERVICES

We will be holding one service on Good Friday. Resurrection Sunday

4 April 9am & 10.45am

There will, however, be no Sunday school as this is the first Sunday of the month. There will be activity sheets for kids to do while sitting with their family.

Don't forget clocks go back Saturday night (3rd April)!!

We are planning another baptism service for others in our church who are wanting to be baptised. If you have been considering baptism please let one of the pastors know. Please note this will be the only service on Sunday 18th April and will be held once again in the auditorium. To comply with COVID requirements our COVID marshals may direct you to alternative seating in the café if we are full. We will also be providing table service for morning tea.

If you would like to prepare slices or biscuits for the morning tea please contact Erin on 0430 382 094
