Bulletin I 25th November 2018
25 November, 2018
PREACHER'S PEN | Ryan Windle
“Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee. It happened this way: Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus ), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” - John 21:1-7 NIV
CYC CAMP SPONSORSHIPS
It’s that time of year again when Amy Day is looking for people who would like to sponsor campers to attend the summer camps at CYC El Shaddai. It allows children to go to camp who would otherwise not be able to afford to go.
One of our own young people in our fellowship has been able to attend camp for the past 9 years thanks to the generosity of those who have given throughout the years. She has blossomed in her faith and is now giving back and mentoring other young campers coming through. This is an example of how your giving will have eternal benefits.
If you have a child who would like to go, but you are unable to afford the camp fees, please feel free to contact me to see if we can help send your child to camp.
“Earlier this year, MAF Australia were approached by some MAF friends to nominate for the Australian Aviation Hall of Fame’s prestigious Southern Cross Award. This Award recognises organisations, groups, societies, associations or not for profit entities who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of aviation and/or aerospace in Australia. Previous winners of the Award include organisations such as, Australian Air Force Cadets, Qantas Airways & The Royal Flying Doctor Service.
It is quite an honour to be nominated for this Award and I am delighted to share with you that MAF has been announced as the 2018 Winner of the Southern Cross Award and was inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame on November 24th. We believe this Award is recognition of all the work done by you, our members, our staff and our partners both past and present. This organisation stands as the witness to God’s love in the world because of your work, your love, your generosity and your faith. As the General Manager, on behalf of the MAF Board and staff, I want to say thank you and congratulations.” - Ian McDougall, General Manager, MAF Australia
