__________

PRAYER NEEDS

Please continue to be in prayer for our church:

That the church will understand, and have the freedom to speak into, the Elder’s vision for the church and the community.

Transparency

between leadership and the church. That together we will be able to work as a body (a team) in unity and humility so that we can journey together.

Wisdom

as we meet regularly as a church with our leadership, that we can communicate better with each other, and also as we receive input from the entire church regarding our 2 services.

Future Leadership

For new “lay” Elders, and for the right person to take Jeff’s place. Bring him on, then work on the church vision together.

Home Groups

we have a desire to see more people involved and for them to grow. The following is a list of the “official” church groups, who meet weekly:

1. Sunday night Home Group, 5pm at the church

2. Monday morning KYB, 10am at the church

3. Tuesday night Young Adults, 7:30pm at the Kelly’s

4. Friday night Home Group, 7:30pm at the Spencer’s

The School

For its ministry, for the evangelism that needs to happen, for our Chaplaincy team, and for the School Staff.

Year 12's

Please pray for the Year 12 students at Hope Christian College over the coming weeks as they prepare for their exams and complete assignments for subjects that have no exam.

This coming Saturday, 5th September, we will be meeting in the church cafe from 9am-10am to pray. We will be praying specifically for our church, church ministries, for our leadership, our school, and for our positive impact on this community.

Your prayer, our prayers together, will be absolutely vital to the life and ministry of our church!

We honestly believe that prayer changes things! It changes hearts, it changes situations, it changes circumstances, it invites God into the situation. So, if you’re part of our family at Craigmore, if you’re committed to the life and work of the Lord here at Craigmore, we invite you to come and pray with us on Saturday morning. Hope to see you there!

COVID19 & CHURCH

Hopefully you all received the update from the Elders this week regarding our services. Here are a few key points we need people to be mindful of:

- If you are feeling unwell please remain home even if symptoms are of a mild cold

- When coming into the church building use the hand sanitiser at the entry

- Please remember social distancing and practice this as much as possible on site

- Sunday School is still operating and will have children from different families separated as much as possible

- To comply with drinking and eating ruling this week, we ask that you be seated once you have your coffee/tea

- Please sit with your family or friends you have regular contact with outside of church during the week

- Refrain from handshakes, hugs or the like with other church members

- At the end of the service feel free to talk to those nearby where you are seated.

- Parents with children under Sunday School age please continue to feel free to use the play area beside the kitchen. If you are using this area you will need to be responsible for your children and be there with them as doors to car park and toilets are open to avoid multiple people handling and therefore a potential danger for young ones.

- Chairs, tables, toys, door handles, and toilets are cleaned between services

To help with social distancing and now we have an idea of numbers attending services the café area will have less chairs set up. You don’t need to sign in for Sunday services as we have a roll we take. At all other times please sign in if a ministry/home group leader is not taking the roll.

Through this time let’s all do our part and if you have any concerns please speak to one of our pastoral team.

Bulletin l 1st March

PREACHER'S PEN

Jeff Spencer

I was reading in 1 Peter 4 on suffering and found verse 1 a challenge:"He who has suffered is done with sin.”

How is this so?

Perhaps it is because when we go through suffering, life is no longer able to gratify us through indulgence in its distractions. When circumstances rob us of fulfillment we are driven to search for it elsewhere.

This was the experience of whoever wrote Ps 73. In verse 25 and 26 he asks God, "Who do I have other than you in heaven? And there isn't anything, anywhere on earth that I need or want in life other than you!"

If you are struggling under some overwhelming trial at the moment, it just may be that this is exactly the place of enduring fullfillment that God is seeking to bring you to through what you are suffering... It reminds me of a poem that has always arrested me:

When God wants to drill a man,

And thrill a man,

And skill a man

When God wants to mold a man

To play the noblest part;

When He yearns with all His heart

To create so great and bold a man

That all the world shall be amazed,

Watch His methods, watch His ways!

How He ruthlessly perfects

Whom He royally elects!

How He hammers him and hurts him,

And with mighty blows convert him;

Into trial shapes of clay which

Only God understands;

While his tortured heart is crying

And he lifts beseeching hands!

How He bends but never breaks

When his good He undertakes;

How He uses whom He chooses,

And which every purpose fuses him;

By every act induces him

To try His splendor out-

God knows what He’s about.

Bulletin l 16th February

18 February, 2020

PREACHER'S PEN

As we press into our study of John's first epistle he tells us that the foundation of his message is that God is Light and that in Him there is no darkness at all.

It seems obvious that the pure righteousness of God's holy character has some very powerful implications for us, if we want to live in fellowship with Him. The result is an unavoidable conflict between the sin that inevitably rises up within us to challenge the life that is birthed within us as the children of God in Christ.

If we are to enjoy a deep abiding sense of assurance of our salvation in Christ, if we are to maintain integrity in our profession, and if we are to fully be the expression of God's love to a world that is lost and fallen, then the reign of sin in our hearts must be broken and banished.

This is what it means to walk in the light. John's aim is to help us find that plane of living. Let's be open to hiw God wants to do that in each of us.
